Transforming Grief into Growth: Summer Programs & Stories
A Symbol Of Hope
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed…
We feel lucky to have seen it.
As summer begins, we’re reflecting on the many ways healing and hope continue to unfold in our community. Butterflies—symbols of transformation and renewal—remind us that even after loss, something beautiful can emerge. In this newsletter, we’re sharing recent highlights, upcoming support groups, and meaningful moments that continue to inspire us.
Warmly,
Claire Towel & Patty Ellis
Find Us In South Bay Magazine
We’re honored to be featured in the June/July 2025 issue of South Bay Magazine. The issue’s closing column, The Last Word, spotlights Karen Maguy, a longtime volunteer with Taking Time. In her heartfelt piece, Karen reflects on the power of remembrance, the importance of community, and how grief can transform into quiet strength.
This feature is a meaningful moment for our organization; an opportunity to share our mission with a wider audience and celebrate the dedicated individuals who help carry it forward.
